It's cherry season, and this year I've decided to invest in a cherry pitter simply for two good reasons:
1) My littlest boy is a cherry fanSo I went and bought one this morning; so glad I did! Prepping cherries to feed my little 2-year-old cherry fan is no longer an ordeal. Before, I would slice each cherry in half and dig out the seed, in short--a mess. Now, it's a cinch! "You want cherries? Sure thing, let's go get Mommy's new cherry pitter!" And my cute cherry fan is chewing fresh cherries in seconds. *Love* it!
2) XXX Cherry 'n Chocolate cookies
While I was on a cherry pitter high, I went and baked Mr Oatmeal Cookie Guy's XXX Cherry 'n Chocolate cookies. Delish! We loved the intense cherry flavor! Oh, and did I say it was a breeze pitting 2 cups of fresh cherries, yeah!
